Ju!ced Film Festival is proud to announce the 4th edition of the festival that will take place from 30th September to 4th October 2026 at Unseen Nairobi. Our theme this year explores the idea of Identity through the lens of the short film. This is an interrogation of how we portray ourselves, and how we see ourselves in our films.

As his 35th birthday approaches, a filmmaker travels to Luxor, where the echoes of his tormenting past intertwine with the harsh realities of the present world. Amidst the ancient city's timeless beauty, he faces the relentless whispers of his demons, searching for a glimmer of hope.

In a quiet coastal town, a talented chef is known for one dish that keeps customers coming back, her unforgettable Biriani. Among them is her closest friend and most loyal customer, a woman who regularly visits the ‘Kibanda’ and shares warm conversations over plates of food. But behind the friendship lies a painful secret. The chef slowly discovers that the woman she trusts most has been secretly involved with her husband. Shocked and heartbroken, she chooses to remain silent, hiding her emotions while continuing her daily routine in the kitchen. One day, the friend places another order for her favorite dish — Biriani. As the chef prepares the meal, the quiet kitchen becomes a place of heavy thoughts and difficult decisions. What should have been just another order turns into a moment that will change their lives forever.

Jacob sits alone in a deteriorating apartment haunted by the presence of his deceased wife lying motionless in the next room. As relentless knocking echoes from outside his door, his grip on reality begins to unravel. Fragments of memory and hallucination draw him back to a church congregation led by a charismatic preacher whose promises of salvation demanded absolute devotion. As prayer and visions intertwine, Jacob is forced to confront the consequences of a faith twisted into something deadly. Moving between psychological horror and tragic reflection, Faith explores the devastating aftermath of spiritual manipulation and the human cost of blind belief. Through Jacob's fractured perspective, the film examines how hope, guilt, and devotion can be weaponized, leaving destruction long after the sermon has ended.
